Accomplishments
HERBERT PACIS MORTERA
-6th FAAWC President –Filipino-American Association. of Western Connecticut
GOALS AND AGENDAS:
- Development of youth activities; bowling, skiing and the formation of a basketball team that competed with local businesses and ranked #2 in the community.
- Provided entertainment of folk dances to the "annual lawn festival" to the convent of sisters of the holy family of Nazareth, Monroe, CT.
- Supported miss teen Philippines USA and the Brookfield senior center.
- Marched the N.Y.-Philippines Independence day parade, Manhattan, N.Y.
- Donated $1,200 to the Gawad kalinga project.
- Sent 5 balikbayan boxes of used textbooks to the library of the jugaban annex National high school,
Carigara, Leyte. - Fundraising for the victims of super typhoon Reming in the Bicol region.
- Fundraising event for James Malaguit and family of Brewster, N.Y.
- Lastly, he taught Philippine culture, music, dances and history in an informal classroom setting for the young and the adults alike.
