Nativity
Pageant
The
Filipino-American Association of Western Connecticut capped its Christmas celebration with
an advent mass at St. Joseph, Brookfield, a Nativity pageant and potluck dinner at the
gymnasium on Dec. 22, 2003.
Twenty
four children took part in the pageant directed by Angelie Niedermeyer and Barbara Pretto, assisted by Leilani Gonzales and
president Chie Jardeleza.
Gillian
Valera was the Virgin Mary; Jevic Jardeleza, St. Joseph; Aerrol Ampeloquio, Christian
Mortera and Clarence Pacete, the three kings; and. Jasmin Ducusin, the narrator.
The
angels were Chelsea and Trisha Ampeloquio, Nikki Ciramella, Danielle dela Cruz, Janine
Jardeleza, Eliza Malaguit, Brittany Mortera, Jules Niedermeyer, Kristina Pretto and Amanda
Santoro.
The
shepherds were Edmund Ampeloquio, Andre Durante, Jezreel Jardeleza, Christian Mortera,
Clarence Pacete, Krystian Rasing, Patrick Relator, and Charlesen Springael.

The advent mass was
celebrated by Fr. Sam Scott and Fr. Mirek Stachurski and featured some Tagalog liturgy and
Christmas carols sung by the Himig ng Silangan choir conducted by Elaine Valera. The
soloists were Herbert Cledera, Michelle Gregorio and Andrew Wheelock; the pianist, Dr.
Lalaine Mortera, and the guitarist, Romy Gregorio. guitarist.
About
300 people from the greater Danbury area and neighboring towns attended the advent mass
and nativity pageant.
